Dune Recruitment was approached by a successful fashion forward retailer in the South West who was looking for an Assistant Buyer to join their expanding team.

Dune Recruitment have worked with this retailer for a number of years and successfully placed a number of candidates with this company that have progressed well during their time there.

The client briefed Dune Recruitment on the Assistant Buyer role – that they were looking for an experienced Buying Admin Assistant/Trainee Buyer ready for the next step or an Assistant Buyer with some relevant experience on a fashion clothing product area to join them in their Assistant Buyer role.

The Assistant Buyer role would be based at the companies head office in the South West to assist the buyer in the sourcing and development of the range across their stores, catalogue and website.

Dune Recruitment undertook an extensive search and talked to a number of candidates on their database with the relevant buying experience at Assistant Buyer and Buying Assistant/Trainee Buyer level.  They also advertised the position on the Dune Recruitment website and a number of specialist retail websites.

After short listing four candidates and interviewing them the client offered the Assistant Buyer role to a candidate who was currently at Assistant Buyer level at a fashion retailer in the North West but was looking to re-locate to the South West.  The candidate had been registered with Dune Recruitment for a while and had applied for the Assistant Buyer, South West position which was advertised on their website as they were looking to re-locate to the Bristol area.

Dune Recruitment successfully placed the candidate with the client as an Assistant Buyer and the candidate has progressed well within the company over the last two year’s and is now at Junior Buyer level.
